Get ready to be sad Sydney!
Remember that awesome water feature at Darling Harbour? That one you'd try and jump over without getting soaked or smashing your face on the concrete? Well, we've got some bad news for you. It's been filled in.
It's all part of a massive $2.5 billion upgrade for the tourist precinct, which will see all your favourite childhood activities ripped up to be replaced with a new International Convention Centre and hotel complex.
A construction notice from developers group Darling Harbour Live says "From Monday 18 May, work will start in Tumbalong Park to reinvigorate and expand
the park. This will require the installation of hoarding around the park and the
removal of the existing water features. "
This is what the area will look like when it's all finished. They've promised new water features, but we all know they'll be "safe" and "OH&S compliant". a.k.a NO FUN.
