“Show a breast performing its natural function and the world goes mental.”
Australian model Nicole Trunfio will grace the cover of Elle Australia's June issue, breastfeeding her son, Zion Rain Clark.
In an Instagram post, sharing the cover, Trunfio explains that she isn't trying to be controversial, but wants to use this opportunity to help normalise breastfeeding.
"There is nothing more powerful and beautiful than motherhood," she writes. "I'm so proud of this cover and for what it's stands for. I obviously don't look like this while I am breastfeeding but this stands for all women out there, whether you breastfeed or not, we gave birth, we are women, we are mothers."

Zion is Trunfio's first child with musician fiancé, Gary Clark Jnr, and looks equally adorable on the alternate cover, which goes on-sale Monday.
The cover featuring a breastfeeding Trunfio - available only to the magazine's subscribers - wasn't planned, according to Elle's editor-in-chief, Justine Cullen.
"This wasn’t a contrived situation: Zion needed a feed, Nicole gave it to him, and when we saw how beautiful they looked we simply moved her onto the set,” Cullen said in an online statement. “It was a completely natural moment that resulted in a powerful picture."
Cullen has described the response to both covers as overwhelmingly positive. "It’s so interesting to me that we could have run a swimsuit cover that showed a lot more breast and no-one would have raised an eyebrow, but show a breast performing its natural function and the world goes mental," she told BuzzFeed Life

As for baby Zion; this surely won't be his last magazine cover appearance.
Because, JUST LOOK AT THAT LITTLE FACE.
Now everyone, let's spread the good word. Let's celebrate. Let's normalise breastfeeding.
