Minister of Niger Delta, Usani Uhuru Usani, yesterday presented a report from the audit carried out by a Technical Audit Committee on projects of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs since 2009.
According to the Minister, findings by the audit committee showed that 90% of the N700 billion projects the ministry had awarded since 2009 had not been completed.
According to him, a total sum of N414 billion had been paid to various contractors handling projects in the region while an outstanding balance of N230 billion is still needed to complete all projects. He added that most of the projects were in paper as their exact locations could not be found. See a graphical representation of the findings by the audit committee below.
